Samuel Anoints David
When Samuel approaches Jesse to find Israel’s next king, some of Jesse’s sons “audition” for the role, but it’s David who proves that he has a good heart and is worthy of leading Israel. Tommy and Eddie bring the story to life with lots of laughs.
Word: Heart

Memory Verse: Let us hold on firmly to the hope we profess, because we can trust God to keep his promise. (Hebrews 10:23 GNT)
David & Goliath

Word – Courage
Scripture: 1 Samuel 17: 1-49 (New Living Translation)
Memory Verse: God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. Psalm 46:1
God’s Story Table:
Here is a God’s Story Table video created by the Hampton Sunday School back in 2009 of David being a Shepherd, being anointed by Samuel, playing his harp for King Saul, and finally meeting up with Goliath. They set up the scenes and took the pictures. Luanne turned them into a mini-movie.
Lego Activity:
How about pulling out the Lego/Playmobil/Stuffed Toys, or dress-up. grab a sibling(s)/parent(s) to join you, whatever you have at hand, and create a scene of your choice from David and Goliath. It could be the shepherd, the musician, anointing, braving a giant. Take a photo and email it to Luanne, she’ll post your scenes below to share with your fellow Explorers.
Your Scene Here!
Get Up & Move:
